This enterprising yet deranged Italian homemaker turned her victims into soap and teacakes, which is certainly one way to deal with the wartime shortage of cleaning supplies and sweets. As it turned out, the secret ingredients for her organic, locally sourced goods were far too unsettling, and her culinary and cosmetic entrepreneurship landed her in jail.
