On January 23, 2005, Tammy Gardner called 911 to report that she’d been shot by her husband, John Steven Gardner. Tammy’s condition worsened and she lapsed into a coma prior to arriving at the hospital and died two days later. Gardner was arrested at the beginning of February and eventually charged with capital murder. We’ll talk about the evidence linking Gardner to Tammy’s murder, his trial, direct appeals and post-conviction claims.
