Here is some great info about Ron Woleks event in Syracuse- The Hank Wolek 70th Beard & Mustache Contest will be held on April 8th at the Syracuse Polish Home in Syracuse, New York. The event will be a fundraiser to support the Polish Home, which was established in 1919 as a cultural gathering place for Polish immigrants. In addition to its original plans for YMCA-like facilities, including meeting rooms, bowling alleys, a gymnasium, and a swimming pool, the Polish Home has since served as a hub for first-generation Polish immigrants and their American descendants. Over the years, the neighborhood surrounding the Polish Home has become more diverse and the Polish Home has adapted to meet the needs of the growing community while still preserving its Polish and Polish-American heritage. Currently, the Polish Home is used by multiple ethnic groups, religious organizations, and societies.
