In this episode, Temitope Onifade, PhD student at UBC, discusses his paper “Climate Justice Under the Paris Agreement: Framework and Substance” published in the journal Carbon and Climate Law Review, 2021. This paper was one of the top 5 articles in all of 2021 on Lexxion Publisher for the journal Carbon and Climate Law Review

Temitope speaks about living and working in the Niger Delta and how it prompted his interest in environmental sustainability. He explains that it was his work representing start-up clients dealing in renewable energy in South-West Nigeria that eventually made him decide to specialize in how energy law could address climate justice issues.

In this episode he discusses the concept of climate justice, and what it means to him in his work. He also speaks about his experiences attending COP 26 in Glasgow as a delegate from UBC.
