We are delighted to announce that Broadcast East is working on a new podcast series that will explore some of the key issues facing the UK’s NHS Services. The series will look at ways to improve productivity, identify cost savings, consider new approaches to organisational design and examine how emerging technology could be used to benefit the NHS. We hope the podcast will encourage a constructive debate about the future of the NHS and provide insight into potential solutions that could make it better. The series will explore a number of key ideas, including:

· It might be beneficial for the NHS to consider pausing outsourcing services and training its own service professionals.

· It may be beneficial to consider restructuring the NHS into six regions and establishing shared service centres for IT, finance, estates and emerging technologies.

· Similarly, it might be advantageous to reconfigure three NHS England regions to support just six regional CEOs and six CIOs.

· Finally, it's worth exploring whether the NHS could be governed It might be beneficial to consider the possibility of establishing regional governing boards that would include the regional mayors, the head of the ambulance services, the MPs within the region, the police commissioners and other senior regional executives. Additionally, it could be valuable to consider the potential inclusion of governors and independents, who could be tasked with making decisions on healthcare provision for the region.

· It might be beneficial to consider regionalising NHS Procurement Services, standardising NHS IT systems and standardising NHS medical devices.

We are now seeking guests with opinions on the subject matter, and we extend a warm invitation to all practitioners at all levels, including consultants, service providers, politicians, and patients. If you have a view you would like to share, we would be delighted to hear it. The podcast will be hosted by Richard Hannah, a veteran broadcaster and expert in organisational transformation. If you believe you have something to contribute, we encourage you to contact studio@broadcast-east.com.
