On October 5th, 2017 former master patrol officer Roger Montez responded to a call that would change his (and many other lives) forever. During a standoff with police, an armed 29 year old man made his way towards officer Montez (and other officers) who pleaded for the man to show them his hands. During this incident, officer Montez and a sheriff's deputy were put into the position of having to fire upon the suspect, which ultimately took his life. Prior to this incident, Roger Montez had already dealt with unthinkable amounts of mental anguish in his own personal life. On this episode of "Tall, Dark & Random" we will be joined by Roger Montez himself and hear this incredibly emotional story in his own words. While many layers of his tale are considered dark and tragic, Montez has found a way to see the light at the end of the tunnel and has turned some harrowing moments into hope while finding a way to help other people survive, understand and accept their own personal tragedies. Our thoughts and good vibes go out to everyone affected by the incident we will be speaking about in this episode. Viewer discretion is strongly advised.
