Our daily errands and tasks often find us in prime situations to witness the bad behavior of children in their naturals habitats. From school to the grocery store, trips into public mold and shape young minds through rules, routines and experience. But what happens when there is a complete parental disconnect? What if there are no consequences for poor behavior and no acknowledgement when there is a positive result? What becomes of a child when mom or dad can’t take their face out of their cell phone long enough to be present? We’ve taken to reddit this week in an effort to examine and discuss a few real life stories of people observing a breakdown between parent and child in public, often with disastrous results. Is it childhood mischief or stepping stones to bigger issues? We’re shows like “Wife Swap” created to make us feel better about who we are as parents? Why we’re the Grooms brothers banned from going to “Family Dollar” at the same time? Grab some chicken nuggets and head over to grandma’s house to tune in and find out how you can better assess the line between “kids will be kids” and “enough is enough” on an episode that truly yells “YO! It’s your fault your kid is an asshole!!!” from two checkout lanes over.
