On today's episode, Jana and Reata reflect over their quarter 2 podcast series, "Wisdom" and "The Gospels" mentioning their favorite tangible takeaways that they are applying in their daily lives. They both highlight how these two studies unintentionally flowed by learning about principles/practices throughout wisdom literature and then seeing these principles lived out by Jesus in the Gospels. Jana revisits some of her favorite proverbs from the "Wisdom" series, including Proverbs 12:1, 12:16, and 12:18. While discussing these proverbs, Jana discerns the importance of managing our own emotions to others' thoughts and actions and not giving the power over to others to impact our inner peace.
Additionally, they converse about the teachings in Ecclesiastes and how every "thing" is meaningless; instead it is the people in our lives that ultimately provide meaning to our life. Reata also shares how a different seed in the "Parable of the Sower" stuck out to her while revisiting the book of Luke, which leads to a conversation about the importance of perseverance.
Scripture Mentioned:

Proverbs 12:1

12 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,
but whoever hates correction is stupid.

Proverbs 12:16

16 Fools show their annoyance at once,
but the prudent overlook an insult.

Proverbs 12:18

18 The words of the reckless pierce like swords,
but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
LUKE 8:15
15 But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.
