Celebrating 10 years of my Podcast this month and rather neatly this is the 300th installment. To mark the occasion I'm re-posting the first thing I uploaded in April 2008, the episode itself dates back to April 2003 and is pretty representative of the type of stuff I was DJ'ng at the time. It was all done live on 3 turntables and is the hardest I've ever physically worked on a mix. The name 'Tantric Dex' comes from a show I was doing back then on the defunct 'Radio Friendly',a pirate station, here in Cork, that I had a weekly slot on. You can read a little bit about it here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirate_radio_in_Cork#Radio_Friendly I didn't have a name for the programme initially, so I asked listeners to text in with any suggestions. The first one through simply said "Tantric Dex", I laughed out loud and pretty much ignored all the other texts. I was fond of the name because it was humorous and rationalised it in my head by thinking that when 2 songs blend well together; it's eargasmic. I christened the show with the name and used it as a moniker for music I produced and subsequently as the title of this Podcast. The mix was recorded as a promo tool for the show and for my club sets. This was back in the day when I'd hand people CD's at gigs or leave them in flier racks all around town, simpler times. No track-list for this, there's over 100 songs featured, I'd be all day typing them out, but you'll have fun spotting the tunes. Thank you, as always, for listening over this past decade. Neil
