I was wearing a Fresno shirt when Alexander asked, “Hey, are you from Fresno?” I said, “I went to Fresno City College to study and wrestle, but I’m not from there.” Alexander, with a raspy voice said, “Oh, you’re a wrestler. I’m from Visalia.”
I felt closer to him when I realized he was from the Central Valley. I was intrigued by his life story. I wanted to know why he was here in Redding, CA, and what his life story was.
When I asked him to share his life story, he agreed, and we planned a date to record the podcast. I did not have his phone number around that time, so we set up the meeting informally for a Monday afternoon in a Japanese restaurant where we had dinner.
In our first episode, Alexander will be sharing about his life in the gangs and how that impacted his life.

Hey, podcast fans! I've been away for a while, but I'm working hard to bring you some amazing conversations. I've been thinking about the direction of the podcast and want to ensure that each episode is meaningful and engaging. To bridge the gap, I'm excited to introduce a summer series called "My Summer of 2024." Stay tuned for the first episode coming soon! Thanks for listening!
