Sarah Cooper is a current high school assistant principal in East Tennessee. She has taught both second and fifth grade. In addition to classroom teaching, Sarah believes strongly in the power of teacher collaboration and the creation of a sustainable, positive classroom community. She presents both locally and nationally, sharing her passion for teaching and learning with fellow educators. Additionally, Sarah writes an educational blog and is an active participant in the social media sphere. Sarah was awarded the 2017 Teacher of the Year at for her school and the 2017 District Teacher of the Year for grades 5-8 in her district. She earned her master’s in Educational Leadership from Carson-Newman University and is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in curriculum and instruction. The topic of her dissertation research is chronic absenteeism.
