Hello and welcome to the first ever edition of Tech and Trees in English! This time I talk to Fredrik Uddenfeldt, the VP of Product Vision at ClimateView. ClimateView is a Climate-Action-Platform for cities. A major share of greenhouse gas emissions stem from the cities that we love so much. But whoever has ever lived in one can tell how much of a hustle and bustle is going on in these places. It is extremely hard to get these melting pots under control - and it is extremely hard to do so when it comes to reducing the emissions that citie cause. ClimateView helps to break to down the complex urban systems into tangible actions. When cities set up a climate strategy that can take several months. With Climate View this process can be reduced down to a few days. This effort was rewarded with a placement among the 100 most innovative companies in the climate space worldwide in 2021. But that is not everything. Fredrik himself is the embodiment of someone who managed to transition into a career in climate change from a completely different background. He speaks Chinese fluently, which led him to become a diplomat working in China. Fredrik describes his career as completely random - a series of coincidents nothing else. While this podcast is great to get to know more about Climate Action for cities, Fredrik’s adventures in China are just as worth it. Keywords: Climate change, climate strategy, climate transformation, start-up, product manager, entrepreneurship, diplomat
