Manage episode 412840096 series 3128428
Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear. I’m Fred Fishkin. This is the first in a series of reports on driverless mobility. With the work that companies like Waymo and Cruise have done in places like Arizona and San Francisco, Princeton Professor Alain Kornhauser, faculty chair of autonomous vehicle engineering, argues that the capability of robotaxis to operate without human drivers has been proven. But in a new book, The Real Case for Driverless Mobility, Kornhauser and co-author Michael Sena say the real market opportunity for this new form of transportation has so far been missed….although Kornhauser points out Waymo deserves much credit..
“They are doing. They are doing…that is a whole heck of a lot different than to dos. So hats off to them."
So what is The Real Case for Driverless Mobility? We’ll have more in our next report.
