Coach Greg Kampe,
In this episode, you’ll hear from Coach Greg Kampe. Coach Kampe is currently the Head Coach at Oakland University. This past season marked his 38th year as the Head Coach of Oakland. After the recent retirement of Coach K, Coach Kampe is currently the second longest-tenured Head Coach in Division 1 basketball, only behind Coach Jim Boeheim at Syracuse University. Coach Kampe has 664 wins. Greg was named the head coach at Oakland when he was 28. He has been to the NCAA D1 Tournament three times and the NCAA D2 Tournament four times. I could not be more excited that Coach Kampe spent close to 40 minutes with me. We recorded this podcast right before his keynote address at Detroit Athletic Club for a group of educators. The topic of his speech was "Leadership, Should that Template Be Changed?" Wait until your hear Coach Kampe addresses this speech. In addition, Coach Kampe discusses why having Non-Negotiable is the core of his basketball program. Also, Coach Kampe breaks down the keys that he thinks are successful for an assistant coach. Do you want your players to become better shooters of the basketball? Coach Kampe shares some simple reasons why his players shot the ball so well from the three-point line. Finally, Coach Kampe, who is so active on social media, discusses why he is so passionate about giving back and making an impact in the community. This is an honest 40-minute conversation with an elite basketball coach and leader.
