Hey ya’ll hey! Thanks for tuning into Episode 92 of Tellemtiptoldyou—"He Ain’t SWAC.” This week, I had a lot to get off of my chest regarding that coach’s behavior around our beloved HBCUs. Before you listen, let me go on and say in advance that some feelings my get hurt with this episode. Listen, everything that glitters isn’t gold and everything flashy isn’t faithful. You can go ahead an tellemtiptold you that! Anywhoo, I realized that I could fit everything I wanted to cover in just one episode, so consider this part one of my rant. I’ll give you the rest next week. What I had to get off my chest first, was just how bothered I am around the treatment of our students and how many of us seeming have our souls up for sale. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. called materialism one of the three evils that we must face. I think his words are especially important in this conversation. It also was a wakeup call for your girl. After all, I think it’s time more of us start thinking about what it means to be an institution builder. I’d love to hear what you think about these ideas. And, if you’re really wanting to unpack the ideas around HBCUs, education, or culture, please consider being a guest on the podcast. Send me an email at drtip@tellemtiptoldyou.com. I’m a life coach helping folks reach holistic success over here! After you tune in, let me know what you think of this episode by leaving me a 5 star review. Take care of each other so we can build together. #tellemtiptoldyou For more on Tellemtiptoldyou (the podcast on Black History, Black Spirituality, and Black Culture, be sure to follow Dr. Tip on Instagram (@tiffanydphd) and Facebook (@tellemtiptoldyou).
