Today on the podcast, we are grateful to have Rob Ridnour with us today.

Ridnour began his basketball coaching career:

· 1977-80: Head Boys Basketball Coach, Willapa Valley High School

· 1980-83: Head Boys Basketball Coach, Post Falls, Idaho

· 1983-84: Assistant, North Central (Spokane) High School

· 1984-87: Assistant, Spokane Community College

· 1988-2000: Head Boys Basketball Coach, Blaine High School

· 2005-13: Head Coach, Bellingham Slam of the IBL

In his years as a high school coach Ridnour’s W-L record was 283-122. Ridnour’s teams placed 9 of 11 years at the State Tournament, including 2nd in 1998, state 2A titles in 1999 and 2000. In that 3-year time frame, Ridnour’s Borderites were 74-5.

His Bellingham Slam of the International Basketball League were a big success winning three IBL titles during his tenure.

Coach and his wife Muriel have two children, Heather and Luke. Luke played for Coach at Blaine and went on to play at the University of Oregon. Luke was drafted 14thoverall in the 2003 NBA draft by the Seattle SuperSonics. Luke went on to have a successful long NBA career.

Coach is retired and is training players at Luke’s gym called the RAC (Ridnour Athletic Club)
