We go heavy on the funk this week, kicking things off with a track from the new collaboration between John Legend and The Roots, Wake Up. They recreate Eugene McDaniels' Compared to What, although you wouldn't even recognize it if you didn't know. While I usually don't include pop songs in my mixes, I simply couldn't resist working Cee Lo Green's pop hit Fuck you into the mix. In my opinion, it's the perfect pop song. We also work some Ebo Taylor, Very Best, and JB's into the mix along with a track off of The Trouble Man soundtrack (Brought to you by The Afrobeat Blog and Afro-Marc productions). 1.
