Social media has changed - but so few of you have.. Over the last few years social media has changed, the way people consume content has changed, yet so few of you have changed.
Seth Godin wrote a book called Purple Cow.. The essence of the book was that if you go past a field of cows and see a purple cow, it stands out, its memorable, its different.... Everyone copies everyone on social media. So in the end everyone is doing exactly the same thing as the next person. Images, quotes, images with quotes, video, vertical video, horizontal video, stories, and so on..
Everyone is in the sea of sameness.. Few are memorable, few are different, few stand out. Most people's Bios are the same as everyone elses & totally forgettable. Social media is not what it used to be. Its been ruined by automation, duplication, content overload and frankly not being social. Too many want a presence without actually being present.
What worked a few years ago, simply won't work now. You need to review and look at your approach, stop wasting time on what's not working or producing any results and please.. likes, shares, retweets & comments are not sanity metrics...They are meaningless.
