US-based chip design firm AMD has announced its latest processors for AI PCs, aiming to compete against rivals Nvidia and Intel. The Ryzen Pro 8040 series processors for laptops and Ryzen Pro 8000 series processors for desktops are built using advanced 4-nanometer technology, making them highly powerful chips for business PCs. They are set to power PC models from brands such as HP and Lenovo starting in the second quarter of 2024. The demand for AI PCs is predicted to grow, with shipments expected to make up 22% of all PCs by 2024, according to consulting firm Gartner.
