Matt Duchene finally returned to Denver and feelings are still there for number nine. Check out Tom Hunter’s piece on Mile High Hockey chronicling Duchene’s career in Denver.

The Avalanche didn’t make a highlight video or anything, but Alan Roach did tell the crowd all about Matt Duchene’s career in Denver during the first commercial break on October 26.

And then literally seconds after the tribute at Pepsi Center Matt Duchene goes and scores this beautiful goal.

The Avalanche’s first line really hockeyed during the month of October. Captain Gabriel Landeskog was named the NHL’s first star for the week ending on October 21. Mikko Rantanen was named the NHL’s third star for the week ending on October 28 and was then named the NHL’s first star for the month of October.

November is men’s health awareness month. NHL players will be rocking mustaches all month long. Check out the details about Movember here.

The Pittsburgh Penguins and the entire city of Pittsburgh responded to the tragic shooting at The Tree of Life Synagogue on October 27th. The Penguins wore jerseys with “Stronger Than Hate” patches on the right shoulders during their October 30th game and are auctioning them off. Click on this link for details as well as a chance to donate to the victims and their families.
