Hello everyone — and welcome to the very first episode of BabbelEd. This is a podcast about contemporary education, how educators are grappling with issues impacting learning in our schools, and about exploring how diverse approaches to leadership and coaching might offer a fresh perspective. With heaps of excitement, we kick off the show by introducing our two hosts, Jonathan Mueller and Scott Linder. Both Jonathan and Scott give a brief introduction of themselves and tell us a little bit about how they got into education before they reflect on the privileges that come with the role. We take a few moments to talk about the name of our podcast and why we think it’s so fitting. Jonathan and Scott then focus on education and coaching by detailing some of the challenges of being an educator. They touch on the qualities of good leadership and some of the trickier issues that arise when making leadership decisions. In the latter half of the show, the two explore what it means to move away from content-focused education and toward a more vulnerable space of teaching. So join us today as we begin our BabbelEd journey.

“All of the good things happen in life as an uphill journey. We just keep taking one step after another.” — @JFJMueller [0:05:05]
