In Episode 4 of The Badass Coder Podcast series, we sat down with Tiana Kara, a badass woman in tech who is the Head of Partnerships and Growth at #BUILTBYGIRLS. An organization that was recently celebrated by EventBrite and Elle magazine for their outstanding leadership with helping to prepare the next generation of women leaders, builders and creators in tech. Just like networking, this all started out with a simple conversation. A conversation based on why it was important for people(especially women) to start building relationships with peers by networking across instead of up. We have all heard this saying before, “It is not what you know but it is who you know” that has motivated us to get through the door but only to leave us to a surprise in the end.
