The Obi-Wan Kenobi series is the new Disney+ live-action series. The series focuses on the character of Obi-Wan Kenobi during his time in exile on Tatooine between the events of the films Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope.

The series will be written by Jon Favreau, with executive producers including McGregor, Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. In October 2018, it was announced that the series will consist of six episodes and will be released on the Disney+ streaming service.

The character was originally created for the 1977 film Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, with Alec Guinness portraying him. McGregor took over the role for the prequel trilogy, with the character appearing in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999), Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002), and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005).

While the character has been a fan favorite for decades, the series will be the first time that his story has been explored in-depth in any medium. The series is sure to be a hit with fans of the character, and of the Star Wars franchise as a whole.
