Debt counsellors want the legislation amended to widen their sphere of operation.. The National Credit Act (NCA) should be changed by the government to allow debt counsellors to restructure debt in other categories, such as unpaid municipal and fee-paying school invoices. The South African economy might benefit from this to the tune of R25 billion. The National Debt Counsellors Association's Chair, Benay Sager, joins host Ray White to elaborate on how this would function.
