One of the most well-known trademarks in South Africa, Takis Biltong, battled for nine years, all the way to the Supreme Court of Appeal, to defend its trademark against Grupo Bimbo, a Mexican-registered firm, which was found to be selling tortilla chips in South Africa under the Takis Fuego brand.
