WASHINGTON BEER LOVERS...MEET FOUR HORSEMEN! In this episode, we talk with Dane and Dominique from Four Horsemen Brewery in Kent, WA about beer, farming, and innovation for the future. Nano beer at it's best! This was an amazing conversation and full of insights from their dedication to one day be a fully sustainable brewery. Solar panels, recycled rain water, anything and everything. They've got a big start and some amazing ingredients and procedures many other beverage companies don't take the time to focus on! When it comes to progressive beer and ingredients, Four Horsemen in one of the most impressive outfits I've seen, especially for such a compact size and small team. Hops: Cascade hops (Puterbaugh Farms Yakima, WA) Malts: WA Select 2 Row (Great Western Malting), Honey: Buckwheat Honey (Robbins Honey Farm Lakewood, WA) Black Plague (Stout) Made from completely WASHINGTON GROWN/PRODUCED ingredients: This style of beer required roasting grains over 8 hours to get the dark chocolate color. Hops: Cascade hops (Puterbaugh Farms Yakima, WA) Malts: WA Select 2 Row (Great WesterMalting Vancouver, WA) Honey: Buckwheat Honey (Robbins Honey Farm Lakewood, WA.) Pestilence (IPA) Made from‏ completely WASHINGTON GROWN/PRODUCED ingredients: This beer required slow roasting grains for 5-6 hours at low heat to get the amber color from the malt.
