This week, the Bike Nerds are joined by award-winning filmmaker, John Simmerman, President and Co-Founder of Active Towns Initiative, which explores, documents, and profiles the people, places, and programs that promote and sustain a healthy Culture of Activity. For the past five years, John has been producing high quality multi-media content intended to entertain, educate, and engage audiences across social media and the Culture of Activity Vimeo Channel with a goal to inspire people, both community members and leaders alike, to take up the charge of creating more Active Towns. Currently, John has been collaborating with Kyle on a feature documentary tentatively titled “Making the Big Jump: Towards Cities that Cycle,” following the progress of the growing nationwide movement to dramatically increase the number of people riding bikes in U.S. cities over the next three years.
