I loved chatting to Rachel about her views on support for mums after birthing their babies and it's so wonderful to hear that there are services out there such as the one Rachel provides to new families / mums once their new baby arrives.

"I’m Rachel and I love everything to do with pregnancy, birth and parenting. My own first childbirth and postpartum experience was wonderful, even though I was completely under-informed, luck had it that I walked away feeling empowered, confident and in awe of what our bodies can do, and I was thoroughly supported at home in the first few weeks with bubs.

Over the following few months, a few friends and family had their first babies too, and none of their experiences were as empowering. I started to get really interested in the current culture around birth and early postpartum, and why so many women are saying they are traumatized by the experience of giving birth and/or completely depleted by early parenting.

Four years and another baby later and I’m a juggling my two girls, employment, running my own business, and helping families and in particular mums to feel confident, informed and supported in their pregnancy, birth and early parenting journeys."

The book Rachel recommends is by Julia Jones - When a baby is born so is a mother.
