The guilt portion of the federal trial of Boston Marathon bombing defendant Dzhokar Tsarnaev is over. He has been convicted of all thirty counts against him. For the jury, however, the job is far from complete. Next week begins the sentencing phase of the trial, in which the prosecution and defense will try and persuade the jury towards either execution or life in prison for the now convicted Tsarnaev. In this week’s podcast, Carl Stevens and Lana Jones recap the first half of the trial and talk about what the verdict means for the victims and the Boston community. They are joined by Carlos Arredondo, who helped tend to victims in the immediate aftermath of the explosions on Boylston Street, as they look ahead at the difficult decision awaiting the jury.
