This week on The Whiskey Trip Podcast, Big Chief takes listeners on a ride to Vail, Colorado to chat with Owner and Founder, Ryan Thompson from 10th Mountain Whiskey & Spirits Co.

Ryan sits down with the Big Man and chats about the history of 10th Mountain and the storied Army Division it honors. Big Chief takes a trip down memory lane of his Army service. Ryan tells of his dedication to helping active duty service members and veterans through 10th Mountain.

On the first half, they start the show with 10th Mountain Bourbon at 92 proof, that has a mash-bill of 75% corn, 20% rye, and 5% malted barley. It has a hint of honey and toasted almonds.

To take them into the second half, they sip on the 10th Mountain Rye Whiskey. This could be the red wine drinker’s gateway whiskey with dark fruit, toffee, and a dry finish.

To finish the show they dive into a bottle of 10th Mountain American Single Malt. The nose has chocolate notes that reminds the big man of his grandmother’s Mississippi Mud Cake. With hints of coffee, spice, and a touch of honey this is a beautiful whiskey.

This ride on The Whiskey Trip is a tribute to the soldiers who first served in the 10th Mountain Division. Their sacrifices will not be forgotten or wasted.

Cheers!
