If idolatry can be defined as anything we choose to place above reality itself, then politics would be a serious contender for one of our favorite idols. Chuck Baldwin says America has only two religions, Democrat and Republican.

John Whitehead of the Rutherford Institute points out that it's getting harder to ignore the sense that politics has become our de facto national religion.
