In light of the recent resignation of Jim Yong Kim as President of the World Bank, we take a look at the past, present, and future of the institution. We kick things off by looking at its switch in focus from the redevelopment of Europe post-World War Two to the eradication of poverty in the developing world, then move on to current operations through the eyes of World Bank executives interviewed by The Business Year, and finally to the race to succeed Jim Yong Kim, and the top names currently under consideration at the White House.
