An entertaining interview with Chris Merritt, one of the founders and Managing Partner of Atlas Local.

Atlas Local is a coworking space located in Greenville, South Carolina that prides itself less on coworking and more on the people and companies that collectively make up their bustling group of resident members.

Ranging from web developers to graphic designers to start-up entrepreneurs, the members of Atlas Local are a tight knit, yet welcoming group of creative thinkers and path forgers. No one member is alike as most have their own individual jobs and businesses to keep them busy, but as a result of working in the shared, open floor concept they often partner and collaborate on new ideas and projects whenever the opportunity arises.

In this episode, Chris discusses how his good friend (and now partner) Matthew Smith first started the business under the name CoWork, before the idea and concept of "coworking" was really a thing or even recognized as a word.

We then discuss how he left his corporate job and eventually came to be the Managing Partner, as CoWork went through a vital transition to rebrand itself as Atlas Local and relocate to a much larger building.

Throughout the interview Chris shares various experiences and challenges he faced while transitioning out of his corporate job and into the world of being an entrepreneur, as well as some advice and words of wisdom for anyone else thinking of doing the same.
