Sharing some thoughts and feelings I've been dealing with in regards to FOMO... aka the Fear Of Missing Out.
It's defined as "anxiety that an exciting or interesting event may be currently happening elsewhere, often aroused by posts seen on social media websites."
I think everyone deals with it in some capacity or another, especially with so many things going on around us these days and the ability to see so much of what others are doing with their lives through things like social media. It's easy to compare ourselves and our current life situations to that of others... some of whom we may not even know in real life... and feel like what we're doing isn't measuring up to everything else that's out there.
I've felt it a lot lately trying to decide what my next step and career move should be. Balancing the pros and cons between taking a chance and starting a business of my own again or taking a job and working with/for someone else like I was doing before. Both have their ups and downs, but I obviously feel that if I go one route I would miss out on amazing opportunities with the other.
