"When you talk to these mothers it's not the monster that you see on television...most of the time they are people who didn't get the life lessons that God allowed me to have. I had one mother who told me that she was never told that she was fearfully and wonderfully made until she was in prison," Amber Strong said on today's CBN News Daily Rundown. The number of women going to prison is rising. If those women are mothers, they lose the opportunity to see their children grow up, connect with them and make positive memories. The GEM program is working to heal those relationships.
