Death Penalty Pt. 2
Manage episode 300713790 series 2940311
Is there such a crime or circumstance that truly warrants the death penalty regardless of cost or moral implications? If we do end up banning it due to the margin of error with wrongful convictions – could it still be an option for situations as heinous as 9/11 or the Boston Marathon Bombing? What I’m having trouble with is if allowing the government to have this ultimate power leads to a slippery slope AND if killing is healthy for our society’s psyche. Emotions run deep, especially with such infamous events. How do we control our emotions and fix our, at times, broken criminal justice system?
We may not have all the answers, but hear us discuss this and more in Part 2 of our discussion, and if you haven't already, be sure to catch up with Part 1!
During this episode we enjoyed a glass of Black Maple Hill Bourbon.
Cheers!
