On Part two of the three-part series titled “I’m Still Here” we consider the historical Jesus and his interaction with religion and with the religious of his day. It seems that Jesus was not hostile toward religion, rather wanted to keep religion in its proper place: a vehicle, not the vision. We observe why Jesus seemed to move the boundaries, amend beliefs and abolish some parts of his religious tradition … and in doing so remained faithful to it. It’s possible, if we imitate Jesus’ relationship with his Tradition, we may build a healthier Christianity and, we will find that we will become healthier in the process.
