In this bonus episode, we're discussing Domingo Germán's historical achievement. On June 28, 2023, Germán pitched the 24th perfect game in MLB history and the fourth for the Yankees during an 11–0 victory against the Oakland Athletics.
Despite earlier season challenges, including a ten-game suspension for violating MLB policy, Germán threw ninety-nine pitches, struck out nine batters, and recorded his 500th career strikeout during this game. This was the first perfect game in MLB since 2012, and the first by a Dominican Republic pitcher.
This game was also notable for being the first perfect game (or no-hitter) under the new pitch clock rules implemented in 2023.
