It can be hard to overcome the feelings of guilt and shame when you do something a follower of Jesus shouldn't do. I know it's happened to me - too many times. I'll be in a worship service where I feel God's presence in a very real way. Then – out of nowhere – I remember that not too long ago I did something a follower of Jesus shouldn't do. Instantly, I'm overcome by feelings of guilt and shame. It's hard for me to continue enjoying the wonderful presence of God because all I can think of is what I did. The feelings of guilt and shame can be overwhelming.

It’s understandable that we would carry around those feelings of guilt and shame. It’s understandable, but not necessary. The reason Jesus died on the cross was to remove our guilt and shame. Still, it can be hard to overcome those feelings.

In this episode, I share insight about a powerful word Jesus used when he restored his disciples. The word is "Shalom." You probably know that "Shalom" means peace, but there's much more to the word than just peace. Learning about what this word means will encourage you. You will understand that Jesus does not want you to carry around your feelings of guilt and shame. He wants to restore you and give you what you need to overcome those feelings of guilt and shame.
