Four disparate souls have their fates woven together one fateful night as Hogga the Unlucky pulls something terrible from the depths of Bitewater Lake. Soon after, they find each other as companions-at-arms while an assault from a kobold army puts the entire town of Fishgather in peril. The quartet is now being hailed as "Dragonslayers" after saving the town from a sickly, suicidal black dragon. Now, having enjoyed the hospitality of Fishgather, they discover that their acquaintance Hogga has been found dead in his hut, alongside his family. The mystery deepens as the "Dragonslayers" move to investigate the death on the lake...
