Going overtime in client sessions is OK….until it isn’t. It can create stress and chaos in your schedule, and when it happens persistently it can also lead to resentment of clients. Additionally, it generally doesn’t really help your clients.

Many coaches and practitioners get stuck in a cycle of going overtime in sessions, but don’t know how to get out of it. Because you don’t know how to keep your sessions to the agreed upon time (clients can talk so much!) or because your clients have already gotten used to longer session times.

In this episode, we break down the specific reasons practitioners go overtime in sessions (most of them are not what you think, and you’ll be laughing in recognition as soon as you hear them!) and then look at exactly what to do so that going overtime in session is a “once in a while” thing versus a pattern that robs you of your time and energy.

Some of the topics we cover:

==How the coach’s beliefs and energetics are the driving factor behind staying on time or going over time

==How feeling not good enough is a surefire way to go overtime in a session

==The very first thing to do in a client session that will help you avoid going over time

==What you need to know about interrupting clients who have gone off course

==How to close a session when you haven’t covered everything your client wanted to cover

==What to share with clients who have gotten used to longer sessions
