047: Today’s episode involves me musing about my business. I hope that it will show you the power of self-reflection in uncovering why we don’t do the things we say we want to do. The lightbulb moment for me was that, even though I have a list of editors who want to appear on the Edit Boost Podcast, my timetable was too busy to organise a guest for today’s show, so I had to do a solo show instead. It was a sure sign I needed to change something. I realised that I have stretched myself too thin, across too many business products. There was some fear there, about having multiple backup plans. And if I’m honest with myself, I’ve been making excuses to not put 100% effort into any one thing. I also realised that I (still!) have a strong need to be liked by everyone, even though rationally I know that that’s not possible and not necessary. If someone doesn’t like what I have to say or doesn’t want to work with me, it’s not the end of the world! What fears or beliefs do you need to shed a light on? I’d love to hear about it.
