An expecting mom’s to-do list is long and never ending. No matter how prepared you think you are, there’s always something that you wished you’d thought of before or sooner. In today’s episode, I’m joined by Shamiesha Ebhotemen. Shamiesha is a registered nurse and certified lactation education specialist. She is the owner of Nurse Milk, where she prepares families to embark on their breastfeeding journey, whatever that looks like.

Shamiesha is passionate about providing proper support for families who are about to embark on their breastfeeding journey at any stage of motherhood. Her business was born out of her own experience as a breastfeeding mother and the support she wished she had as she was going through her journey. Today, we’re discussing why Shamiesha is so passionate about educating other Black women about the importance of having a support structure in place as they embark on their breastfeeding journey. Then, Shamiesha shares how new and expectant mothers can prepare for this journey, where they can find information, support, and resources online, and important ideas to think about when creating a registry.
