Increased accessibility to overdose-reversing medicine is an immediate need in the community; Police are investigating reports that someone took “potentially improper” photographs of people on the University of North Texas campus and posted them online. UNT police announced in a news release last week that they learned about the photos on September 1 and have “taken a few reports from persons identified” in some of the photographs; Attorney General Ken Paxton this week withdrew a legal opinion issued by his office in 2016 saying nonprofits have the right to ban firearms from property leased from the government. The move comes after he sued Dallas, its interim city manager and the State Fair of Texas on Aug. 29 to block the nonprofit’s new ban on firearms at the city-owned fairgrounds.
