The Dark Rum Podcast where we discuss Monsters, Myths & Mayhem. Kyle and Matt return to stories from the dark side discussing: The Flatwoods Monster. A creature from West Virginian Folklore that stems from a single incident in Braxton County West Virginia in September of 1952. Where 7 children and adults claimed to have seen what is commonly described as a 10 foot tall alien in some sort of suit after seeing a red flash and an object falling from the sky. After investigating they claim a fog caused their eyes to burn as well as hearing a shrill shriek. Is this creature an alien species that crash landed on Earth and exited the craft still in its space suit, is it an interdimensional traveler or time cop like Mothman, or is the guy's new theory correct where the US government lost something important and possibly nuclear and sent a team geared up to protect them from radiation and to keep the secret they tear gassed the town's folk? Or was it a bird in a tree? Find out all this and more, about the mysterious creature that has since spawned references in games such as Fallout 76, on this week's episode!
