From playing games and performing commercials about items in the pantry, to his family, to being Senior Marketing Director at Ostendio, Yehuda has always loved advertising and marketing. Learn how he’s learned to always look for the light, find the lighthouse brand offering, and listen to customers' genuine concerns in this episode of The Digital Marketing Mentor.
Episode Highlights:

  • Yehuda Cagen has always had an interest in advertising. Even as a kid, his family would play a game that entailed picking a random item out of the pantry and doing a commercial on the chosen thing. He began his career at an advertising agency after getting his Master’s in Communication. He knows his degree helped open doors for him, but he knows he had to prove himself once he got to work.
  • A mentor is anyone you can learn from, according to Yehuda. He says that our entire journey on this earth is to keep learning. There are formal and informal mentors and intentional and passive mentors. Brian Grodner, Larry Sachnowitz, Peter Edlund, and Grant Elliot have taught him much over the years, much of it focused on being open and inviting to others and having a positive focus in life.
  • When it comes to advertising complex and niche products, like many of the businesses Yehuda has worked for in his career, he says you must find your beacon. This is the one thing that truly differentiates you from your competitors. You discover this by talking with the customer service and sales teams and listening to honest conversations with current and prospective customers.
