The year is 2006 and WWE is coming off the high of its largest box office at the time in Wrestlemania 23 and the WWE is on its annual post mania European tour when someone in creative gets an incredible idea as Monday Night Raw plans to emanate from Milan, Italy for the first time ever: What if we debut a hometown hero? BRILLIANT! Except, WWE didn't have someone from Italy to debut, so they made one up. Take a candian, put him in street clothes from Milan and have him speak just enough Italian to fool everyone. Oh, have him win the Intercontential Championship in a shocking debut to cap it all off.
