In 2007, while WWE chugging along making money in spite of itself some times, the little company that could, TNA, had organically reached the pinnacle of TV wrestling: a 2 hour primetime show. With established names like Sting, Kurt Angle, Booker T, and the former Dudley Boys working along side with homegrown talent like Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Robert Roode, and the Motor City Machine Guns, TNA had finally finished carving its niche in the wrestling landscape after 5 years of hard work. TNA became known for its alternative presentation, from its 6 sided ring to its unique match types. One such match became the Feast or Fired Match, a match were 4 briefcases would hang above the ring, 3 with title shots and 1 with a pink slip. It was the ultimate risk vs reward match and TNA had their first one in 2007.
Twitch.tv's Cheesewiz (@xCheesewiz) and KonkyTalks (@KonkyTalks) join me to watch the first ever feast or fired match and to watch who got the pink slip. We also talk about pro wrestling's potential influence on the content creation space, from presentation and personas to the drama of the content creator space, and vis versa. They also talk about quitting jobs and bad bosses.
