Ontario Hwy 108 leads to Elliot Lake a small town that has made big headlines over its existence. Elliot Lake rests on the Canadian Shield in Northern Ontario and was a planned community that was born for uranium mining in the 1950’s. When mining was completed in the 90’s, Elliot Lake resurrected as a Retirement/Seniors community which currently makes up for a little over 40% of the population. Elliot Lake sometimes faces divide and challenges. To respectfully discuss both the natural beauty of Elliot Lake as well as the challenges the city faces, can only make a community stronger. Join me for an informative and locally focused podcast about all things Elliot Lake.
