Welcome to the CROSSTALK - the IEEE EMC Society Podcast.
Hear us above the Noise!
The Podcast to discuss interesting topics on electromagnetic compatibility to our technical community.
In this issue we talk with Karen Burnham, Vice President of Standards for the EMC Society.
The EMC Society is starting an effort to renew two widely used standards, IEEE 299 and 299.1 Their official titles are: "IEEE Standard Method for Measuring the Effectiveness of Electromagnetic Shielding Enclosures" and "IEEE Standard Method for Measuring the Shielding Effectiveness of Enclosures and Boxes Having all Dimensions between 0.1 m and 2 m".

As we start the process of renewal, we want to hear any and all comments on these standards from the community, especially anyone who works with the current versions regularly. Do they work well? Do you have any grumbles about places where they're unclear? Do you use one or both routinely?

When we form the working groups for renewal we will send out a separate call for volunteers. Right now this is a call for feedback. Please provide any and all comments, suggestions, and/or gripes about IEEE 299 and 299.1 by filling out the feedback form linked below. Standards leadership within the IEEE EMC Society will collect all comments to help shape the discussions moving forward. Feedback received by January 15 will be included in the renewal evaluation planning process.
